Discipline To Help You Manage Diabetes
Disclaimer:
First, let me make it clear I have no physical medical training. The help that I offer is not on how to treat Diabetes but is about giving you the support and motivation to achieve results to improve your health, within the boundaries set out by your health care professionals.
I have personal experience with my health care and have a good understand of the dedication and drive needed to improve health. Likewise, I know firsthand that this can improve and, in some cases, reverse health conditions.
To be here on this site, you already have an awareness that the service I provide is different from your usual mentor or life coach. You know my service is about consequences and holding you accountable for your actions. And I know that if this were not something you wanted or felt you needed you would not be reading this.
So, for most, the story goes like this. You are now heading towards 40. You are overweight and lead a lifestyle of little to no exercise. You don’t feel unwell and have noticed no significant changes in your health. Yes, you nap after your meals but who doesn’t. Yes, you drink more, but you go to the toilet more overnight, so that’s okay. Then, however, you found out you have Diabetes. You tell yourself you will be okay; all you have to do is take the meds, and all will be good. There is no justified reason to make any changes because doctors are continuously telling us to eat healthily, lose weight and exercise.
Here is the catch: The truth is, Diabetes is a chronic condition, and without getting it under control, the consequences can be frightening. Some implications of uncontrolled Diabetes are blindness, amputation of a limb and kidney failure. However, all is not lost; the good news is that you can take control of the condition and not let Diabetes control you. By doing so, you can quickly slow down the progress of the disease. There is no reason you can not live a full active life with Diabetes if you take control and follow the advice of your health care team and cause with my guidance.
Don’t let this disease define who you are.
Right the hard stuff: you know you need to make changes, but sadly you lack the self-motivation to get started. For some, you will live on your own, others you might live with your partner etc. But life gets in the way, and you are just too busy. So, you say, but may I remind you of the above consequences for doing nothing. Making the necessary changes will not be easy; it will involve learning to eat healthier choices, cutting out sweets, cakes, fries, chips and chocolate etc. Regular exercise each day. All of this will take a significant amount of motivation and effort.
Right, I hear you say, this sounds easy. But we know it is easier said than done. I can help set out the penalties for you not doing anything and help you to get started on a path to better health. I can help you with the discipline you need to produce self-motivation and to stay motivated.
I can offer you daily or weekly motivation and discipline.
When you contact me, we will discuss your situation and what level of help you need. We will review and agree on the types of discipline and consequences that will be exercise each required.
We will then draw up a plan of action and agree on what my fee will be for my time.
